The short version
TryOn shows you wearing clothes you find while shopping online. Your photos and your generated try-on images are stored only on your device. Our servers process render requests in memory and never store images. We keep only account, subscription, and render metadata.
1. Who we are
TryOn ("TryOn", "we", "us") provides the TryOn Chrome extension and this website. For any privacy question or request, email kunalkakade808@gmail.com.
2. Your photos and try-on images
- The photos you upload are stored in the extension's local storage (IndexedDB) in your browser, on your device. We do not upload them to an account and we do not sync them anywhere.
- When you request a try-on, the extension sends your photos and the garment image to our server over an encrypted HTTPS connection. The server holds them in memory only, forwards them to Google AI image generation services (the Gemini API, or Google Vertex AI depending on configuration) to generate the render, returns the result to your browser, and discards all image data. Nothing is written to disk, to a database, or to object storage.
- Your render history is stored only on your device.
- You give explicit consent inside the extension before any photo is uploaded or used for a render.
- Generated images include an invisible SynthID watermark added by Google's image models.
- A consequence you should know: if you lose your device or clear your browser data, your photos and render history are gone. We cannot recover them, because we never had them.
3. Information we do collect
Everything below is metadata. None of it is, or contains, an image.
- Account: your Google account identifier, email address, display name, and avatar URL, collected when you sign in with Google.
- Subscription and billing: your plan, subscription status, and billing period. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record - your card details go directly to Dodo and never touch our servers.
- Render metadata: for each render, a timestamp, the model used, the quality setting, the outcome status, the website domain the garment came from, whether a render used the free re-roll, latency, and any error code.
- Waitlist: the email address you submit on our landing page, with its source.
- Diagnostics and analytics: error reports via Sentry and product usage events via PostHog. These contain no image data and no photo content. The browser extension itself contains no analytics or tracking code; telemetry is server-side only.
4. How we use this information
We use it to provide and meter the service (render allowances), to manage subscriptions, to prevent abuse and enforce rate limits, to fix errors, and to understand which features are used. We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not use your photos to train AI models.
5. Who processes data for us
Google (sign-in, and Google AI image generation services - the Gemini API or Google Vertex AI depending on configuration - for render generation), Dodo Payments (payments and subscription billing, as merchant of record), Vercel (API hosting), Neon (metadata database), Sentry (error monitoring), and PostHog (product analytics). Each receives only what its function requires.
6. Chrome Web Store disclosures
TryOn's single purpose is to let you see yourself wearing clothes you find while shopping online. TryOn's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We collect user data only as described in this policy. We do not sell user data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not allow humans to read it, except as needed for support with your consent, for security review, or to comply with law.
7. Data retention
Account and subscription records are kept while your account exists. Render metadata is kept for metering accuracy and abuse prevention. Waitlist emails are kept until launch outreach completes or until you ask to be removed.
8. Deleting your data
- Delete my data, on the extension's Account screen, first deletes your account on our servers (removing your user record, subscription records, and render metadata). Once the server confirms deletion, your photos, render history, and sign-in token are immediately cleared from your device. If the server cannot be reached, nothing is deleted and you can try again.
- To be removed from the waitlist, email kunalkakade808@gmail.com.
9. Age
TryOn is for adults 18 and older. Render requests involving minors are blocked by the model provider's safety systems, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
10. Security
All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. API access uses signed sign-in tokens that expire after 30 days. Image data exists on our servers only in memory, for the seconds a render takes.
11. Changes to this policy
We will post updates to this page and update the date above. Material changes will be announced inside the extension.
